"The experience of movement and touch are basic to our discovering who we are and who is other and how we dance this life together. Sensing is not just passively being stimulated; perceiving is not just passively receiving input; motor is not just responding directly to stimulation. There's both perceptual activity in the motor activity and motor activity in the reception of input, in perception.
Learning is the opening of ourselves to the experience of life. The opening is a motor act; the experience is interaction between sensory and motor happenings. When the experience of movement is integrated into our education, our perception of ourselves and the world changes."

Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen
(quote from the article 'The Action in Perceiving' published in the book "Sensing, Feeling, and Action")
